On November 7, 2024, the Office of Technology Management celebrated the annual Welcome to the Wall, an event recognizing and celebrating WashU IP startup companies. WashU startup founders, faculty, OTM staff and ecosystem friends gathered for an evening of community while recognizing 10 new FY24 WashU IP startup companies and the talented innovation teams behind them.
The FY24 WashU IP startup class includes:
Armor Medical
CapyBio
Central Health Intelligence
Gateway Quantum Electronics
Mobius Care
MySci
Pairidex
Panome Bio
SmArT Aerosol Technologies
Trusted Kidney
This FY24 startup class was the first time ever that 50% of WashU IP startups in a given year launched with dilutive funding.
The evening included WashU startup founder Matthew MacEwan, PhD, sharing remarks about his own personal startup journey. MacEwan is Founder and Chief Science Officer of Acera Surgical, Inc., a bioscience company located in St. Louis developing synthetic electrospun matrices for regenerative medical applications.
The event also recognized the Venture Fellows program for Post-docs, sponsored by OTM and BioGenerator. The program is available to Washington University postdoctoral researchers and offers an intensive 6-month curriculum that provides experiential learning in venture capital investing and company creation, as participating Fellows work alongside entrepreneurs, investors, and faculty in the St. Louis ecosystem.
Congratulations to all the FY24 WashU IP Startups!
