The Office of Technology Management (OTM) hosted a Domain Expert Program (DEP) panel on November 21, 2024 geared to the MedTech vertical market. Three pitches by WashU innovators were evaluated by DEP Advisory Board members, consisting of experts in the MedTech space. The participating researchers received customized feedback on their pitches and will use that feedback to further refine their technologies toward commercialization.
The Domain Expert Program, developed by OTM in 2021, connects a curated cohort of WashU technologies within a specific vertical market. OTM assembles an expert advisory board customized to that vertical market and participating researchers deliver pitch presentations to the advisory board. Each WashU researcher then receives custom guidance and actionable de-risking steps followed by connections to resources including the WashU Gap Fund.
