Gabe Angieri
Gabe Angieri is the Executive Director of Arch Grants, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs and stimulating economic growth in St. Louis.
Before his appointment as Executive Director in 2022, Gabe served as Arch Grants’ Director of Development, where he oversaw fundraising programs and played a key role in leading operations, strategy, and partnerships.
Throughout his career in nonprofits, Gabe has been committed to driving initiatives that increase diversity, equity, and inclusion. He has been instrumental in fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem in St. Louis that more closely reflects the local community.
During his eight-year tenure at Arch Grants, the organization has awarded and supported over 200 companies, catalyzing hundreds of millions of dollars in regional economic impact.
Ed Lahue, MBA
Ed Lahue, MBA, is the Innovation & Technology Counselor with the University of Missouri Extension, where he supports the Missouri Small Business Development Center in St. Louis. Ed helps technology start-ups and established businesses expand their innovation efforts, providing counsel on new business modeling, identifying viable target markets, revenue generation, and go-to-market branding and marketing. Additionally, he assists start-up companies in obtaining grants through the Small Business Innovation Research Program.
With 40 years of experience, Ed has an extensive background in innovation, strategic marketing, and branding. His industry experience spans consumer products, healthcare, and various industrial sectors.
Ed holds an MBA in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Marketing from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
Crystal Winkeler, PhD
Crystal Winkeler, PhD, joined the BioGenerator team as Managing Director of BioGenerator Ventures in 2022. She focuses on building and investing in human health companies.
Prior to this role, Crystal was COO and Vice President of R&D of Canopy Biosciences, a Bruker Company (Nasdaq: BRKR). Crystal co-founded Canopy Biosciences and was instrumental in the growth of the company, including PE-backed acquisitions of both Zellkraftwerk, GmbH and Core Diagnostics, LLC. She led efforts in fundraising, technology sourcing and licensing, commercialization, operations, and business development. At the time that she joined BioGenerator, Crystal led a large international team across four sites.
Crystal also brings experience in life science investing from her time as a VC Fellow and Senior Analyst with BioGenerator Ventures. During her initial tenure with the team, she participated in multiple investments, including Arch Oncology, Confluence Life Sciences (trading as NASDAQ: ACRS), Immunophotonics, Benson Hill (NYSE: BHIL), CoverCress, and Medibeacon. Additionally, Crystal has spent time speaking to various student groups about entrepreneurship and judging pitch competitions.
Crystal holds a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology from Washington University in St. Louis, where her research focused on analyzing the genetics of a mouse model for studying osteoclasts and the role of the ARF tumor suppressor in post-mitotic cells. She was also active in student-led organizations working with investment groups and entrepreneurs.
Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, playing euchre, and traveling.
Veronika Redmann, PhD
Veronika Redmann, PhD, is an entrepreneur and scientist who has founded and leads two companies. At Veronika Redmann Medical Writing, she works with scientists, clinicians, engineers and a grant administrator to assist technology start-ups with commercialization services and pursing non-equity based fundraising through private and federal sources, particularly the SBIR/STTR programs at NIH and NSF. She has advised over 50 companies developing products across the gamut from medical devices, biologics, digital healthcare and energy applications to cancer and cardiovascular drugs.
She has served as a past Entrepreneur in Residence at the Skandalaris Center at Washington University in St. Louis. She currently serves as an Expert in Residence for Arch Grants, teaches workshops on SBIR/STTR preparation and grant-writing, and reviews NSF SBIR/STTR grants.
Prior to her work as an entrepreneur, Dr. Redmann worked for 10 years as a bench scientist in the areas of molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, genetics and virology.
