OTM’s Carol Priddy and Gina Smutz receive inaugural TechPipeline Impact Award – Operations

OTM’s own Carol Priddy, Intellectual Property Manager and Gina Smutz, Compliance Manager, have been recognized by TechPipeline with the Impact Award, Excellence in Office Operations. This Impact Award was presented to Carol and Gina during a special reception, March 2, 2025 at the AUTM annual conference.

In their respective roles at OTM, Carol and Gina manage the processes around incoming disclosures, patent administration, and compliance management. Together, they have been instrumental in developing critical standard operating procedues and streamlining processes, resulting in time efficiencies, reduced outside contract expenses, and better management of office resources. Their leadership has not only strengthened technology transfer at WashU, but also influenced best practices across the industry.

The TechPipeline Impact Awards, established in 2025, recognize the impressive office talent who make exceptional and meaningful contributions to the technology transfer profession in six categories. They are the industry’s first-ever program for universities and research institutions to recognize team members for their dedication and contributions to technology transfer.
