BioGenerator backs startup making holograms of hearts

BioGenerator, the investment arm of BioSTL that recently exited Confluence Life Sciences in a $100 million deal, has committed at least $100,000 to SentiAR, a local augmented reality startup making holograms of patients’ hearts to help surgeons during surgery.

The money is part of a larger $300,000 financing that the company reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Aug. 14.

SentiAR was spun out of Washington University earlier this year based on research from founders Jennifer Silva, a pediatric cardiologist, and Jonathan Silva, an assistant professor of biomedical engineering.

The money from the round, which is still open, will help further develop its prototype and pursue FDA clearance.
